Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

PurePrep is a minimalist, offline-first recipe app. We built it to be quiet: no accounts, no advertising, and no tracking. This policy explains the small amount of data the app handles and why.

Who we are

PurePrep ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by adziusmaster. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at adzius.lech@gmail.com.

No account required

PurePrep does not ask you to sign up, log in, or provide a name, email address, or password. We do not know who you are, and we do not build a profile of you.

Data stored on your device

The recipes you save — their titles, ingredients, and steps — are stored locally on your device in a private database. This data never leaves your phone except in the specific cases described below. Uninstalling the app removes this data.

Anonymous device identifier

The first time you open the app, PurePrep generates a random identifier (a GUID) and stores it securely on your device. This identifier is not linked to your identity, your Google account, or any advertising ID. It is used only to keep track of your available Smart Credits on our server, so that your balance is remembered between sessions.

Importing a recipe by link (AI Smart Parser)

When you choose to import a recipe from a URL, the app sends the following to our backend service so the recipe can be extracted:

Our backend fetches the public web page at that URL and sends its content to Google's Gemini API, which extracts a clean title, ingredient list, and steps. The cleaned recipe is returned to your device and saved locally. We do not sell this data, and we do not use it for advertising. Google's handling of the request is governed by the Google Gemini API terms and Google Privacy Policy.

If you prefer not to send any data off your device, you can add and edit recipes manually instead of importing by link.

Joining the waitlist

If you ask to join the open-beta waitlist on our website, we store the email address you submit so we can email you once when the beta opens. We do not use it for anything else, we do not share it, and you can ask us to remove it at any time at adzius.lech@gmail.com.

Purchases (Smart Credits)

Smart Credits let you import more recipes by link. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing — we never see or store your payment card details. To add the credits you bought to your balance, the app sends your Google Play purchase token and your anonymous device identifier to our backend, which verifies the purchase with Google. Google's processing of your payment is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

What we do not do

Data retention

Your recipes remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. On our server we retain only your anonymous device identifier and its Smart Credit balance and purchase records, and any waitlist email you submitted, for as long as needed to provide the service and to comply with our obligations (for example, handling refunds or fraud).

Children

PurePrep is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal information that identifies you, we cannot look you up by name or email. You can remove all locally stored data at any time by deleting recipes or uninstalling the app. For questions about the anonymous data tied to your device identifier, contact us at adzius.lech@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Summary:

No accounts. Recipes stay on your device. Link import sends the URL and page content to Google's Gemini API to extract the recipe. Purchases go through Google Play. No ads, no tracking.
